PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system for hybrid automobiles that can accommodate even timely changes in its environmental conditions and can change the motor and internal combustion engine over in conformity with respect to changed environmental conditions. SOLUTION: Motor power control means 20 controls travel by the power of a motor, while engine torque control means 30 controls travel by the power of an internal combustion engine. The motor travel in the control of the motor power control means 20 and the engine travel in the control of the engine torque control means 30 are changed over by drive control changing means 10. Upon receiving external information instructing street traveling, motor travel permitting means 40 permits the motor travel.
