PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester woven or knitted fabric which is swollen, is slightly transparent, and has rich elasticity, rich repulsiveness, good color developability and good color fastness. SOLUTION: This polyester woven or knitted fabric comprising polyester composite yarns having at least polyester fibers P1 which have a degree of amorphous orientation of <=0.35, an apparent Young's modulus of <=4,000 N/mm2, an X0/Y0 value of 0.04 to 1.4 on a load-elongation curve, and aβ/αvalue of 0.15 to 2.2 is characterized by the existence of the above properties in a lower region than a straight line represented by the below expression S1. Therein, (1) in the load-elongation curve, X0: an elongation up to the primary point 4 of inflection. Y0: a different between an elongation at the secondary point 5 of inflection and the breaking elongation 6.α: a difference between a strength at the secondary point 5 of inflection and a strength at the primary point 4 of inflection.β: a difference between a breaking strength 6 and a strength at the secondary point 5 of inflection. (2) S1: y=-0.16χ+43.
