PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform the number setting of a slave device, and to facilitate countermeasures even to connection or exchange of the slave device. SOLUTION: A slave device 10 is provided with a slave number setting part 14 constituted of a memory control unit, a non-volatile memory, a slave ID register, and a slave number register, and a number specific to the slave device is stored. A monitor control unit 2 of a master device 1 identifies the slave device according to the number matching collating state of the slave number setting part 14. At the time of exchanging the slave device, the slave device is identified according to the specific number written in the non-volatile memory of the slave device 10, and the slave number is set from the master device 1 in the slave number register according to the order of the connection from the master device 1. Thus, it is possible to monitor control each remote slave device 10 from the master device 1.
