PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly reduce polishing time after adhesion of an optical fiber and to sharply curtail manufacturing cost of an optical connector, without sacrificing ease of insertion into a slit sleeve. SOLUTION: In a nearly columnar optical fiber fixing device in which an optical fiber 41 is stored in a through hole in the axial direction, the tip end face 23 of the optical connector ferrule F is designed to have a shape of a two-stepped curved surface consisting of a first curved surface 29 around the through hole 26 as the center and a second curved surface 28 which is the outer periphery of the first curved surface 29.
