Methods and compositions for diagnosing, detecting and treating a pancreatic disease associated with differential expression of CD49b in comparison to healthy cells. Also provided are antagonists or agonists of CD49b, and methods for screening agents that modulate the CD49b level or activity in vivo or in vitro.
