<p>A polyacetal copolymer excellent in qualities such as heat stability is economically produced by a simple procedure through copolymerization wherein trioxane is used as the main monomer. In producing a polyacetal copolymer by copolymerization wherein trioxane is used as the main monomer, the copolymerization is conducted by the use of a non-volatile protonic acid as the polymerization catalyst to attain a rate of polymerization of 60 percent or above (based on the whole monomers), and then the residual monomer content of the polymerization system is lowered to 5 percent by weight or below based on the polymer by separating and removing unreacted monomers from the polymerization system by vaporization, the vaporized unreacted monomers being recovered.</p> |
