METHOD OF TREATING ACUTE RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME

Methods for treating and/or alleviating acute respiratory distress syndrome in an individual diagnosed with or at risk of developing acute respiratory distress syndrome are disclosed. The methods comprise administering a therapeutically effective amount of a complement inhibitor or a TNF-alpha inhibitor to the individual, wherein the complement inhibitor or the TNF-alpha inhibitor reduces or prevents tissue factor production in aveolar neutrophils, thereby treating the ARDS, or delaying or preventing onset of ARDS.
