A communication apparatus, a multimedia application apparatus and a signal processing method are provided to improve the high-capacity data processing method of a high-speed general-purpose processor. A protocol processor(120) receives a modulated signal from a modem(110), and receives a control signal from a universal processor(130). The universal processor receives data to generate/output the control signal for controlling operations of the protocol processor and modem. A data processor generates an interrupt signal to perform the synchronization of operating time between a DMA unit and the universal processor.
