The present invention provides a semiconductor integrated circuit and a driving method thereof. The semiconductor integrated circuit has multiple memory chips which are stacked. Each of the multiple memory chips includes: a pumping activating signal control unit which generates a power-up signal and a trigger signal received from a first adjacent memory chip as a pumping activating signal, delays the pumping activating signal for a predetermined time, and transmit the pumping activating signal to a second adjacent memory chip; and a pumping unit which generates a pumping voltage by performing a pumping operation in response to the pumping activating signal. The semiconductor integrated circuit performs the pumping operation by dispersing each pumping operation time for each of the multiple memory chips, thereby reducing current amounts consumed at once. |
