PURPOSE: To surely discharge static electricity between first and second connectors by causing a discharge of the static electricity to a chassis and earth via a conductive frame before the other conductive parts of the connectors are coupled together, if the front end of each spring arm of a clip is engaged with the front end of an alignment post. CONSTITUTION: The pair or spring arms 122 of a grounding clip 120 project forward and inward toward the central axis of an alignment post receiving hole 100, and their free ends are smoothly engaged with the front end of an alignment post 80 and deflected accompanying with the engagement. During an alignment process, the grounding clip 120 is engaged with the alignment post 80 before connectors 22, 18 are coupled together and before either of their parts are physically engaged or the conductive part of one connector most approaches the terminal part of the other. The grounding clip 120 is conductively connected to the shield 40 of the connector 22 at a position behind connector coupling faces, the alignment post 80 is conductively connected to the shield 44 of the connector 18, and the shield 44 is conductively connected to a chassis and earth. Thus when first physical engagement of the spring arms 122 with the alignment post 80 occurs, static electricity is surely discharged prior to subsequent engagement of the connectors 18, 22. |
