PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing unit which inhibits increase of the number of components, achieves low costs, and enables improvement of the maintainability, and to provide a thermal printer.SOLUTION: A printing unit 9 includes: a platen unit; and a head unit 3 which is removably assembled to the platen unit. The head unit 3 includes: a head frame 41; a movable blade 11 which is detachably attached to the head frame 41 and cuts recording paper; a support member 71 which is disposed between the movable blade 11 and the head frame 41 and may move between a connection position where the support member 71 connects the movable blade 11 to the head frame 41 and a connection release position where the movable blade 11 may be separated from the head frame 41; and a head biasing member which is disposed between the thermal head and the support member 71, biases the thermal head to the platen roller, and biases the support member 71 to the connection position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
