摘要 The present invention provides a method for preparing multi-wall carbon nanotubes modified with methacrylate, the method comprising the steps of: adding an acid to multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT), and then subjecting the multi-wall carbon nanotubes to an ultrasonic treatment, to form a carboxyl group (-COOH) on the surface of the multi-wall carbon nanotubes (first step); adding thionyl chloride to the multi-wall carbon nanotubes in the first step to substitute the carboxyl group with a chlorocarbonyl group (-COCl) (second step); adding a coupling agent to the multi-wall carbon nanotubes in the second step to substitute the chlorocarbonyl group with an amino group (-NH2) (third step); and adding a monomer having an acrylate group to the multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT-NH2) in the third step and performing a Michael addition reaction to substitute the amino group with a methacrylate group (fourth step). Accordingly, the acrylate group can be chemically introduced to the surface of the multi-wall carbon nanotubes while minimizing damage to the surface of the multi-wall carbon nanotubes. In particular, the multi-wall carbon nanotubes, to which a large amount of methacrylate is introduced using Michael addition reaction, allow free radical polymerization and enable the production of a carbon nanotube composite with various polymers.
