The mounting for a door wing mirror is constituted from a rigid insert (10) onto which is moulded an elastomer external layer (11). This external layer has a thickness which progressively decreases toward its edge zones (12). The insert has a projection (15) forming the core of the wing mirror fixing to the door. A hole (16) is located near the projection and the flexible part passes through this hole an encloses the projection. A lever (19) located on the internal face is withdrawn from the peripheral edges which are plated against one or more pieces surrounding the door.
