[Also in Division F2] A piton or like anchoring device comprises a planar shank 12 intended to be driven into a support 11 and a head 13 having a web 16 with an aperture 14 therein, the aperture being defined by an arcuate edge 19 and a straight edge 18 which is perpendicular and nearer than the arcuate edge 19 to the shank 12. The head 13 may be integral with the shank 12 and formed by bending a lateral extension (13') (Fig. 5, not shown) from the plane of the shank (12'), both the extension (13') and the shank (12') being provided with "D" shaped holes (14) having their straight edges (18) in a common plane. In the embodiments, each of the holes or apertures 14 provides an attachment means for a rope, ring or the like. |
