Water borne sewage treatment plant - using high temp in a pressurized vessel

Sewage sludge contg. inorganic and organic matter is preheated in a heat exchanger and fed to a mixer tank which is pressurized and steam heated by injection, together with a recycled fraction from the top of the vessel, and additional injected air, to 120 degrees-240 degrees C, the injection producing turbulent flow upwards in the vessel. Complete breakdown of all biological matter and full sterilization results and residual solids in the effluent, which is an aq. dispersion, can be pptd. and dried, the dispersion being a valuable, biologically stable fertilizer.
