<p>Process for impregnating cellular material articles, e.g. wood and other lignocellulosic plates, veneers, rods, cubes, chips; also proofing against fire and fungus attack, by (a) vacuum-treatment in a container and exposing to normal atmos. or superatmos. press. after or during treatment with a liquid, esp. polymerisable impregnating agent, then letting impregnating agent out of container and (b) renewedly setting up a subatmos. press. to expel impregnating agent from article pores and cell cavities, so that only cell walls are covered with thin layer of impregnating agent, takes place by admixing impregnating agents with 2-20 (5-10) wt.% low-boiling solvent, w.r.t. impregnating agent. Pref. at beginning of (b) press. in container is lowered within 5 secs. to 1/3 atmos. press. esp. so quickly that solvent boils after 20 (10) esp. 5 secs.</p> |
