The security mechanism is used to lock a combined rotating and tilting window. The locking bolt engages with a hole in the locking plate in the window frame and when the window is slightly opened it is held by a rotating handle pin also engaging with the hole in the locking plate. This mechanism ensures that the window cannot be opened from outside when the window is slightly opened and locked. The handle (10) has a securing bolt (26) which moves longitudinally. The window frame has at the end of the hole in the locking plate a blind hole. The actuating mechanism (54, 56) for the causing bolt (26) can be operated only from inside. The securing bolt (26) is moved under spring force into the securing position.
