Adjustable detector for ultrasonic scanner - is mounted in frame for tilting about orthogonal axes

The detector screen (A) for the ultrasonic scanner is mounted on a swivel axis on a control arm (5) which is itself swivelled on the support carriage. The carriage can be moved in any direction to position the screen w.r.t. the source. The screen is positioned for optimum reception by a series of electric control signals to the separate servo motors for the swivel and translational movements. The whole scan can be programmed for rapid and accurate assessment of the subject.
