Temp.-controlled soldering iron, where the bit consists of a tube (1) ending in an angled workhead. Tube (1) is surrounded by a tubular electric heating coil inside an outer tube (2). The insulated leads of a temp. sensor or thermocouple pass through tube (1) into a blind hole in the workhead. The two tubes (1,2) are pref. made of Cu coated with Ni and are brazed to the workhead together with the thermocouple. The workhead, i.e. the actual bit, is pref. made of material resistant to wear and to tin, esp. steel coated with Ni, and with Cr outside of the soldering zone. High heat transfer to the bit via the Cu tubes is provided with accurate temp. control by the sensor located near the working surface of the bit. The iron has a very low wt.
|
