Sound absorbent screen for gas conduit - has dirt filter fitted on either side of sound screen

The sound absorbant screen for a gas flow conduit e.g. in an air conditioning system has at least one support wall with a covering material which is acoustically transparent. A filter mesh for trapping dirt particles is positioned either side of the sound absorbant screen to which elements which oscillate in response to the gas flow are attached. These elements dissipate the energy of the gas flow and may comprise hollow rods running perpendicular parallel or at an acute angle to the gas flow and parallel or at an acute angle to the surface, of the filter mesh.
