The method uses a remanence coil decoupled from the main store and magnetisable in accordance with the main store state. The coil has no effect in normal operation, so that an intermediate store takes over, when supply voltage is switched off. The signal stored in the coil as residual magnetisation is taken into an intermediate store by application of reading or interrogation pulses. It stores the signal for its writing in the main store until the reading-interrogation phase is ended.
