The safety arrangement is used in projectile fuses with sliding or revolving initiator carrier. The initiator is in safety position disconnected from the initiation system. The fuse and especially the safety mechanism are designed to ensure that all necessary fitting stages and the testing for functioning of the fuse can be carried out without danger. The fuse housing (1) or its cover plate (2) has hole (19) in the region of the seat for accommodating the initiator (15) in the initiator carrier (4). The initiator (15) can be inserted on finally fitted safety mechanism only in the safe position. Alternatively it can be replaced by an inert initiator used for functional testing of the releasing element of the safety mechanism.
