The assembly is for a work bench, machinery support or the like. It consists of lengths (1-8) of open-ended (square-section) tube of which four lengths (5-8) are connected by welding side to side to form a rectangular frame, each member extending outside the respective corners of this frame. The other four lengths (1-4) are welded into the exterior angles at those corners so that they extend at right angles to the plane of the frame. Each tube length may have a bore with welded-on screw nut near both ends to permit similar elements to be coupled together via connectors inserted and clamped in these ends by screws to form different configurations.
