PURPOSE:To increase the number of transmission range, by connecting a sun gear with an input shaft and connecting a planetary gear with an output shaft. CONSTITUTION:In case of selection of a first speed, a brake B3 is operated to fix a ring gear 4d. Since the ring gear 4d is fixed, a sun gear 4a lets a planetary gear 4b revolve along internal gear teeth of the ring gear 4d with a speed reduced in the same direction as that of the input shaft 1. Such a revolution is transmitted through a carrier 4c and an output gear set 10 to an output shaft 2 to obtain a transmission range of the first speed. In case of selection of the second, third and fourth gears, a clutch C1 and a brake B1, a clutch C1 and a brake B2, and clutches C1 and C2 are operated, respectively.
