PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce wear loss, by constituting the sliding surface part of the primary member to the secondary member of a specific fiber- reinforced metallic composite material in a sliding member consisting of the primary member and the secondary member abutting each other and relatively sliding. CONSTITUTION:The sliding member consists of the primary member and the secondary member abutting each other and relatively sliding. The sliding surface part of the primary member to the secondary member is composed of a fiber- reinforced metallic composite material having, as fibrous reinforcement, 3-30% by volume of alumina-silica fiber with a composition consisting of >=40wt% Al2O3 and the balance SiO2 and also having aluminum alloy or magnesium alloy as matrix. Moreover, the sliding part of the secondary member to the primary member is composed of a metal plated with a silicon-nitride grain dispersion Ni-P alloy. |
