PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent for a thermal transfer ribbon forming a discoloring image upon irradiation with UV-rays. SOLUTION: The coating agent for thermal transfer ribbon 20 is composed of a wax, a binder resin, a solvent and a thermal material comprising a photochromic pigment, a mixture of several kinds of photochromic pigments, a photochromic dye, several kinds of photochromic dyes, one or more than one kind of photochromic dye of sufficient quantity for discoloring an image base layer upon irradiation with UV-rays and a combination of one or more than one kind of these photochromic dyes wherein the image base layer is transferred to a receiver substrate 28 through thermal contact. |
