The invention relates to a mixing-air part for a mixing chamber of a ventilation or air-conditioning installation. Known devices for influencing the mixing of two partial streams in a ventilation or air-conditioning installation lead to long mixing sections. The mixing-air part consists of a plurality of approximately L-shaped, mutually parallel walls having angled-off portions at the outer longitudinal edges and at a further outer edge parallel thereto. In the angled-off portions, each wall is connected to the neighbouring wall or walls. The partial streams are supplied approximately perpendicularly to the outer longitudinal edges of the L-shaped walls. In this process, one partial stream is guided in the direction of the main stream. The second partial stream can flow out freely in the direction of the main stream and in doing so experiences, in part, a deflection on one wall of the mixing chamber. The mixing-air part according to the invention produces excellent mixing over very short mixing sections. Approximately 70% of the two partial streams are mixed together in the main stream, already in the region of the outlet opening of the mixing chamber. Furthermore, a substantially uniform rate distribution of the main stream is achieved in the region of the outflow opening of the mixing chamber.
