LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT

PURPOSE:To allow the easy restoration of a defect generated in an array part without particularly adding a redundancy circuit to the above element by forming the element in such a manner that one of line selection wires divided to >=2 pieces in the intersected part with a row selection wire overlaps via an insulating layer on a part of two adjacent picture element electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The line selection wire 2 is divided in the intersected part with the row selection wire 4. One of the divided wires and a part of the two adjacent picture element electrodes 6 overlap on each other via the insulating layer. A part of the line selection wires separated by laser light can, therefore, be utilized for the electrical connection of the picture element electrodes 6 in the adjacent picture elements and can be cut in the prescribed position of the picture element electrodes 6 and the line selection wires 2. The defect generated in the array substrate is easily relieved in this way without particularly adding the prescribed redundancy circuit to the element.
