PURPOSE:To carry out heat exchange with a small heat consumption, by preheating an untreated liquid to be heated hereafter with a liquid when the liquid is not heated to a sterilization temperature and preheating the untreated liquid with the sterilized solution when the liquid is heated to the sterilization temperature. CONSTITUTION:The title sterilization device is equipped with a tank 23 to store a liquid to be sterilized under heating, a first and a second plate type heat exchangers 20 and 21 to preheat the liquid in the tank 23, a third plate type heat exchanger 22 to heat the liquid passed from the heat exchangers 20 and 21 to the sterilization temperature and a warm water tank 24 to store warm water useful as a heat source for the heat exchanger 22. Then the liquid discharged from the heat exchanger 22 is used as a heat source for the heat exchangers 20 and 21. When the liquid reaches the sterilization temperature, the liquid is passed from the heat exchanger 21 to the next process. When the liquid does not reach the sterilization temperature, the liquid is passed from the heat exchanger 20 and returned to the tank 23. Consequently heat exchange with a small heat consumption can be carried out. |
