<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the dynamic range of a speech synthesizing filter and to enable synthesis with good sound quality by using gain controllers for electric power compression and restoration and extension of respectively the input stage and output stage of the synthesizing filter. CONSTITUTION:An electric power signal 105 is supplied to the gain controller (1)109 and the gain controller (2)114. A gain corrector (1)110 in the gain controller (1)109 compresses the supplied signal 105 and adjusts the amplitude of a sound source signal 111 in accordance with the level of the signal 105 before supplying the same to the LPC synthesizing filter 112. The filter 112 forms a synthetic speech 113 with the signal 111 and an LPC coefft. 108 indicating the envelope information of speech spectral and supplies the same to the gain controller (2)114. The gain controller (2)114 extends the speech 113 in accordance with the signal 105. The deterioration in the synthesizing sound quality and the dynamic range is thereby averted.</p> |
