PURPOSE:To separate cation exchange resin particles having a radioactive substance adsorbed thereby with high accuracy by arranging a rotary blade in a liquid and providing a raw material charge port on the side opposed to an overflow port while providing a liquid supply port below said overflow port. CONSTITUTION:A rotary blade 4 is provided to the upper part of a container 1 so that the upper end thereof protrudes slightly from a liquid level L and a liquid supply port 6 is provided below an overflow port 2. The rotary blade 4 is rotated so that the blades 4a thereof are moved from a charge port 5 to the overflow port 2 and a mixture A of an anion exchange resin and a cation exchange resin having a radioactive substance adsorbed thereby is charged from the charge port 5. The mixture is separated according to specific gravity difference in sugared water S and the particles B of the cation exchange resin heavier than the sugared water S are settled to the bottom part of a cone part 1a. The particles c of the anion exchange resin lighter than the sugared water S are energized by the rising stream of the sugared water S supplied from below to rise and overflows from the overflow port 2 along with the sugared water S.
