The voltage amplifier has a rectifying circuit (R3,D1,C3) for detecting an AC output signal from a voltage amplifying circuit (A1) to generate a DC voltage in proportion to the AC output signal level and controls an input signal level by the DC voltage. The amplifier includes a comparing means (CP,I1,D2,R4,R5) for comparing a power voltage (E1) with a predetermined value and a means (Q2) for shorting the capacitor (C3) if the power voltage is lower than the predetermined value.
