This invention relates to combinations of HCV antigens having a wider range of immunological reactivity than any HCV antigen isolated. The combinations consist of an antigen from the C domain of the HCV polyprotein, and at least one additional HCV antigen, either from the NS3 domain, or from the NS4 domain, or from the S domain, or from the NS5 domain, the same combinations being in the form of a fusion protein, of a simple physical mixture, or of the individual antigens bound to a common solid matrix.
