For a rapid temperature sensor made of metal of the platinum group, the invention proposes that a double layer be applied as a passivation layer over the platinum resistive layer to prevent oxidation. The double layer consists of a ceramic layer and a glass layer and prevents oxygen reaching the platinum resistive layer even at temperatures as high as 1000 DEG C.
