Installed on the bottommost bar or baseplate (1) of the door is at least one elongate switch (3) which extends across the entire width of the door and is electrically connected to a transmitting device (2) similar to the remote-control device of a television set, while a receiving device (5) is installed in the vicinity of the electric motor (4) which drives the door so that, should the latter encounter any obstacle as it closes, a signal is transmitted and received by the receiver (5) which then orders the motor to stop.
