<p>PURPOSE:To provide a film of a fluorine compd. having excellent various properties such as water repellency comparable to that of powdery fluorinated graphite and having a film shape not attained by fluorinated graphite. CONSTITUTION:Fluorinated pitch obtd. by fluorinating pitch or a fluorine compd. as a thermally decomposed product of the fluorinated pitch is vacuum-deposited to produce the objective film which is solid at room temp., consists essentially of carbon and fluorine atoms in 0.5-1.8 atomic ratio of F to C and shows a characteristic powder X-ray diffraction pattern and a characteristic X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy pattern. When this film is subjected to vacuum deposition it evaporates and deposits on a substrate kept at a temp. below the vacuum deposition temp. The angle of contact of the film to water at 30 deg.C is 105+ or -15 deg..</p> |
