PURPOSE: To replace a storage battery by reducing the necessary number of temporarily set storage batteries. CONSTITUTION: The method for replacing the existing storage batteries remaining continued for operation with newly installed storage battery by connecting many storage battery as the stand-by power source of an uninterruptible power source comprises the steps of dividing the existing storage batteries 1 into a plurality of groups of the batteries, connecting the temporarily installed storage batteries 2 in parallel with the storage battery 1k of the group, disconnecting the existing batteries in this state, installing the newly installed batteries 6, connecting it in parallel with the temporarily installed batteries, and disconnecting the temporarily installed batteries in this state, thereby replacing the batteries. The replacement of each group is conducted for all the existing batteries to reduce the necessary number of the temporarily installed batteries, and the installing space may be small. When the batteries are connected in parallel and disconnected, it is supplementarily charged by a supplementary charging charger 3 to match the voltage, the differential voltage between the batteries is set to '0', and the batteries are connected and disconnected. |
