PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a picture for focus control and a picture for output/ recording with respectively fitted conditions by controlling the exposure time variable range of an electronic shutter so that it differs with the picture for focus control and the picture for output and/or recording. SOLUTION: When a standby switch SW1 in an operation part 16 is depressed, a system becomes a recording standby state. A diaphragm is positioned on the center of an optical axis by a first exposure value control method. The high frequency component of a video signal obtained from a solid- state image pickup element, 4 is detected and the prescribed range is focused by driving a lens so that the high frequency component becomes a maximum. When a trigger switch 2 is depressed, a photographing operation for recording is executed. Namely, pupil diaphragm being a first diaphragm is saved and a photographing diaphragm being a second diaphragm is inserted. An exposure control member 3 such as the diaphragm and the shutter is controlled by a second exposure value control method, and a subject is taken on the solid-state image pickup element 4. Thus, photographing modes fitted to respective pictures can be obtained. |
