PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide spaceless preloading members, and to enhance the differential restriction force. SOLUTION: In a differential gear provided with a differential case 1, a pinion shaft 5, a pinion gear 9, a pair of side gears 11, 13 that are engaged with the pinion gear 9, multiple disk clutches 15 that are provided on the rear sides of the side gears 11, 13 for restricting the differential movement, and disk springs 17 for giving preloads to the respective disk clutches 15; each of the disk springs 17 is arranged within the thicknesses of the friction plates 15b of the multiple disk clutch 15.
