Method for generating crash signals

The method involves generating a signal from a real measured crash signal using a low pass filter. The signal is divided into several signal segments which follow each other in time. Each signal segment is copied using a transfer function and all resulting transfer functions are combined to form an overall transfer function. One or more new crash signals can be generated by varying one or more parameters of the overall transfer function. The signal can be divided into individual pulses representing the individual signal segments.
