A hydroponic starter assembly (20) is disclosed for use in a hydroponic system in which a nutrient-rich solvent washes through a boxed gutter or the like adapted to receive plants for growth through apertures therein, the hydroponic starter asembly including: partitioning means (21) adapted to partition the space in the boxed gutter associated with each aperture into a plurality of discrete root zones whereby a plurality of plants can be grown through each aperture, the roots of each plant being substantially confined to a discrete root zone. |
