PURPOSE:To obtain a control device capable of constantly providing precise and reliable abutment of a doctor blade by automatically controlling the adjustment of the degree of abutment thereof relative to the peripheral surface of a roller on the basis of the amount of wear caused on the tip of the doctor blade. CONSTITUTION:When the tip of a doctor blade 1 is brought into abutment with the peripheral surface of a roller R1, the tip receives the reaction force from the peripheral surface of the roller in proportion to the abutment pressure. This reaction force is gradually reduced due to wear caused, while the doctor blade receiving the reaction force, a blade holder for supporting the doctor blade and a holder support are subjected to elastic deformations, i.e. strains. A set value representing an appropriate state and a detected value are compared with each other, and every time the compared value reaches a predetermined value, a signal is sent from a controller 33 to a driver 34. The driver 34 then actuates a motor 18 according to the received signal, and the tip of the doctor blade 1 is caused to move toward the peripheral surface of the roller R1 by means of the motor so actuated. When the abutment pressure is restored to its original appropriate value, the resulting compared value becomes zero. |
