The device has a piezoelectric crystal (3), an eccentric (5) driven by the engine shaft (7), a control disc (6) and switch (10), and a spark gap (8). Between the eccentric and the piezoelectric crystal are located a lever and a springy element (2). The spark gap is connected to the crystal via the switch. The control disc is assigned to the switch which, with the eccentric, is located on the engine shaft. The control disc consists of insulating material on which at least voltage-transmitting recess is located that forms a connection between two contacts.
