A capacitive, inductive or resistive identification and/or sensor component is included in a circuit that varies the resonant frequency of an arrangement comprising the storage component, matching circuit and transmitter unit, based on an identity or measured parameter. The storage component may be a resonator whose resonant frequency is shifted using the identification and/or sensor component. The storage component may alternatively by one or more delay lines or an acousto-electronic device.
