It improves the conventional segments employed in this type of furnace 1, providing improved mechanical characteristics and avoiding the need for applying refractory mass after positioning thereof. To this end, the segments 4 are formed by means of a metallic part 5 and a ceramic part 6 which are incorporated into a single element arranged in order to be mounted and used in the relevant furnace 1. <IMAGE>
