PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adopt a counter selling system without using a specific device such as a price label issuing device. SOLUTION: Each of POS terminals 1a to 1c is provided with a mode switch for switching an account mode and a counter selling mode. The POS terminal 1a set up to the counter selling mode inhibits the updating of a section selling file 6 by a section selling record. When a sum key is depresses, the sales data of respective commodities registered as single articles in one transaction are totalized in each section code, the totalized sales data are converted into a bar code in each section code and the bar code is printed out on a receipt and issued. At the time of reading out the section bar code on the bar code receipt, each of the POS terminals 1b, 1c set up to the account mode prepares a section sales record and updates its section sales file 6 based upon the section sales record. |
