Unmanned lifting transporter for freight containers

A longitudinal girder (4) supports two, three or four transverse frames (22), joined by parallel beams between the suspension arms (9) for steerable wheels (8). Lifting arms (10) are hinged to flanges (14) on the girder (4). Each has an actuator (21). Its stepped free end has a coupling pin (19) to engage a receptacle in the container (2). A diesel motor, with its fuel tank is housed in the hollow girder (4). It powers hydraulic jacks (26) for the lifting gear (5) and the drive motors (27) to each wheel. The rig is 2.44m wide, weighs 25tons and can lift a 35-ton container.
