PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for figure preparation, a storage medium, and a program which enable realization of an easy to see and simple constitution of a table and figure and enable improvement in the efficiency of the generation and display of the table and figure. SOLUTION: When a totaling range and a totaling method for calculating the total value of an item belonging to the table and figure and a display method for displaying the total value are set, the CPU 201 of a controller calculates the total value by the totaling method according to a figure generation data control program once the totaling range is determined and performs control for displaying the calculated total value in the table and figure by the display method.
