The invention relates to a process for the purification of effluent obtained, in the reaction zone, during preparation of 1,2-dichloroethane by oxychlorination, extracted from the reactor with the gaseous stream of crude 1,2-dichloroethane, copper-bearing catalyst waste and other impurities, and subsequently condensed. Said process is characterised in that the condensed effluent separated from 1,2-dichloroethane and charged with the precipitated catalyst waste and other impurities is first treated in a first stage with caustic soda at temperatures of 70-100 DEG C while being mixed intimately. |
