<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for effectively conducting a long term oxygen therapy system utilized for effectively treating hypoxia caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, for example, emphysema and chronic bronchitis. <P>SOLUTION: A pulmonary decompression assist device (1100) comprises at least one first member (1106) in fluid communication, at a predetermined site, with inside of a lung of a patient, a sealing device forming an airtight seal between the at least one first member and the lung, and a second member (1108) connected to the at least one first member.
